In a statement on 9 October 2008, HM Treasury confirmed that all depositors in Icesave will receive their money in full. The UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is managing the payout and has started the payment process to Icesave customers.

The Dutch Central Bank, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Ministry of Finance announced on 9 October, that Icesave current accounts, savings accounts or special savings accounts such as fixed-term deposits shall be covered to a maximum of EUR 100,000 per account holder under the Dutch deposit insurance scheme. DNB is managing the payment process.
