Frequently Asked Questions - Objections

Please note that claimants can object to to the Winding-up Boards´s decision on their own claims as well as other claims. Forms intended for submitting objections, available at the creditors website, are to be filled out and delivered to the Winding-up Board either prior to or at creditors meetings. Claimants can not object to the Winding-up Board´s decision on their claim if such decision has been postponed. Claimants can nevertheless at a later stage object to the decision of the Winding-up Board on their claim when such decision will be made.

In accordance with the Bankruptcy Act, creditors are able to lodge an objection with the Winding-Up Board. At the latest the objection have to arrive to the Winding-up Board before the end of the creditors meetings. If objections are not raised within that time limit, the Winding-up Board´s recognition of the claim is considered final.

Please note that this does not apply if the Winding-Up Board has postponed its decision on your claim.

The Winding-Up Board has published lists of objections that arrived before the end of the meetings. The lists are accessible by logging on to the creditors website. Access to this webpage requires a user name and password which have been posted to claimants or their agents if applicable. Claimants can contact the Winding-up Board at windingupproceedings@lbi.is to acquire username and password to be able to access the website, by providing the Winding-up Board their claim number/claim reference number.
