On 22 April 2009, Act No. 44/2009, amending Act No. 161/2002, on Financial Undertakings, entered into force. Among the measures resulting from the new Act and its Temporary Provisions is the appointment of a Winding-up Board, which will handle those tasks not entrusted to Resolution Committee by the Act on Financial Undertakings. The Winding-up Board will be responsible, for instance, for handling claims against Landsbanki Íslands hf. during the moratorium and once winding-up proceedings commence following the conclusion of the moratorium. On 29 April, a Winding-up Board was appointed for the bank by the Reykjavík District Court in accordance with a written request from the bank's Resolution Committee. The Winding-up Board will make information concerning its activities and the handling of claims against the bank available on this website.
